Sir Michael Morpurgo to Headline Oxford Literature Festival 2026

Oxford, UK – The Oxford Literature Festival is proud to announce that Sir Michael Morpurgo, one of Britain’s most beloved children’s authors, will be the headline speaker for the 2026 edition of the festival. The event will take place on July 1, 2026 at the iconic Sheldonian Theatre.

Sir Michael will discuss his latest work, “Black Beauty: A Retelling”, a fresh adaptation of Anna Sewell’s classic novel. In this special session, he will explore the timeless themes of compassion, animal welfare, and the deep connection between humans and horses.

About Sir Michael Morpurgo
