Oxford, UK – The Bradfield Literature Festival is thrilled to announce that award-winning poet, photographer, and former Young People’s Laureate for London, Caleb Femi, will be joining the festival for a powerful session on poetry, identity, and the transformative power of the spoken word. The event will take place at the Sheldonian Theatre on July 4, 2026.
Caleb will explore the intersection of race, identity, and storytelling through his critically acclaimed work, including his debut poetry collection “Poor”, which captures the lives of young Black men in London and the complex beauty of urban life.

About Caleb Femi
Caleb Femi is a British-Nigerian poet, photographer, and filmmaker. He was the first Young People’s Laureate for London (2016–2018) and has been widely praised for his authentic and emotionally charged work. His debut collection “Poor” was published in 2020 to critical acclaim, winning the Forward Prize for Best First Collection.
Femi’s work explores themes of race, class, identity, and the experiences of young Black men navigating life in London. He is also known for his striking photography, which often accompanies his poetry and captures the raw reality of urban existence.
